Inline Hockey New Zealand National Championships

About

An exciting indoor sporting event on wheels. Once again New Plymouth Roller Sports specialised skating facility is the venue for the national championships spanning over nine days in the school holidays. Teams from many parts of the country in eight different age divisions will compete. An added bonus in 2017 will be the guest appearance of a team attending from USA in the senior age category and participating in a concurrent event, the South Pacific DownUnder Championship. Spectators are welcomed with inline hockey taking place all day - every day throughout the event. Bring your friends, tell your school mates, spectator entry is free, refreshments are available on site, with viewing from both upstairs and from stadium seating. The club has been successfully providing their facility to the national body since opening their doors early 2001. The event brings 600+ competitors to the city along with families and supporters, many of whom also experience the unique attractions Taranaki has to offer while visiting the city to compete for national honours. The local club teams will also be entered into the competition, following a hugely successful nationals campaign in 2016 where the junior teams took out all the national trophies. The event is managed by the Inline Hockey New Zealand Operations team lead by New Plymouth-based, Krystyna Beardman, General Manager of IHNZ.
